Initial Objective
Build a marketing-oriented interface for the simulation of a real manufacturing process at miniature scale on a convention floor.
Bespoke Solutions and Marketing
Sometimes the best way to showcase custom services is to actually build an application that shows real-world functionality in action, in real-time.
Here, the client bought a laser metal-engraving machine, and created metal tags for people who offered their business cards as templates. We showed the workflow steps as they progressed, the IoT sensor data readings from the laser cutter, and had an actual (though tiny) product that was custom-created on the spot.
We provided historical IoT data trend visualizations, to demonstrate the power of amassing IoT data and analyzing it appropriately.
We also created simulations of issues-gone-wrong – too hot of laser cutter, loss of water flow etc. This enabled the convention attendees to see the true usefulness of the product, and how the value could be a game-changer.
