Initial Objective
To build a web-based software interface for dietitians to enter long-term care data, and to enable the automatic generation of patient and health care site reports, critical numbers awareness, and notifications on urgent issues.
We worked to provide an intuitive, easy-to-understand interface, to reduce training time and avoid confusion on data entry.
Learning the Industry
We had to learn enough about the dietetics and the long-term care industry to assist in developing a useful and accurate user interface, as well as adhering to HIPAA security requirements.
Agile development process
To create this application, we first met several times with the client, looked at their current applications and processes. We then drew up a series of proposals and wireframes to describe what we thought would be a great solution.
As the requirements were agreed upon, we met weekly to update the client with project progress, to review any issues or questions, and to allow the client to steer the project in the right direction.
Road Map
The client wants to continue development, and to broaden the scope and functionality of this application, including adding AI and data analysis to improve user input, catch errors or anomalies, and to create useful insights to summarize the current status of facility residents.
This application is improving the efficiency of nutrition providers.
